• Narration & Storytelling – This concert will feature spoken narration woven between some of our pieces, adding a new layer of depth to the performance.
• Choir Community – Beyond rehearsals, our members are coming together in new ways — sharing food, laughter, and ideas. These small traditions remind us that music is about more than notes on a page; it’s about connection.
• Growing Together – We’re continuing to welcome new faces into the choir, and our committees are gearing up to make this season’s concert a success both musically and behind the scenes.

Mesa Community College Music Theatre is seeking all voice parts to perform as CHORUS in the Spring 2024 production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Operatic/Legit voices preferred.

Weekly rehearsals mid-January to early March (no rehearsal during MCC Spring Break). Sitzprobe March 23. Dress rehearsals March 25, 26, 27, 28. Performances March 29, 30, April 3, 4, 5, 6. Matinee  performances also on March 30 and April 6.

If you’re a fan of music and live in Arizona, you won’t want to miss the upcoming concert by the Community Choir of Arizona. This exciting choir is dedicated to making it easy for anyone to rediscover the joy of singing and to interact with fellow community members who share their passion for music.

The concert, titled “It’s A-Boat Time… To Sing!”, is scheduled to take place on April 23rd, 2023, at 1:30 pm, at the Mission del Sol Presbyterian Church. The choir has been preparing for months to bring you an outstanding performance that will take you on a journey through a variety of music styles, all centered around the theme of traveling.

The choir’s selection of songs includes both classic and contemporary pieces, ranging from jazz and rock to traditional Swedish folk music. Some of the featured songs include “Come Travel with Me”, a moving piece inspired by Walt Whitman’s “Song of the Open Road”, “For the Beauty of the Earth”, a stirring hymn by John Rutter, and “Come Sail Away”, a classic rock hit by Styx.

The choir has been practicing tirelessly to ensure that their performance is one that you’ll remember for a long time to come. They’re passionate about music, and they want to share that passion with you through their beautiful singing.

The best part is that the concert is free to the public! This is the choir’s way of giving back to the community that has supported them throughout their journey. However, if you feel inclined to contribute, a free-will offering will be taken during the concert to help support the choir’s continued growth and success.

Attending the Community Choir of Arizona’s concert is a great way to enjoy an afternoon full of beautiful music, connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for music, and support local talent. As you may be aware, the Community Choir of Arizona, along with many other arts organizations, had to cancel our last concert and suspend rehearsals to ensure the safety of its members and audience.

As we go forward through this new normal, we are working on ways to keep singing, inspire people to rediscover the joy of singing, and eventually sing together again.

We are looking at new ways that we may continue our mission and encourage singing through new medium. Be on the lookout for different ways in which we can work together, sing together, and create beautiful and fun songs.
